Social-cultural background:

Kangrapady is situated near Goverment Medical College, Ernakualm. It was a backward village of Ernakulam District of Kerala. Locality was surrounded by lower class people where they could not afford to get a good education. There was no travelling facilities and proper schools especially for the small ones available around here in those days.

Service Content	Eductaion Holy Cross Convent came into existence in 1976. Nursery education was the felt need of the people of Kangarapady in 1980. Primary school had began in 1984. Each year it was upgraded to higher classes and remained as Lower Primary School since 2000. We began Upper primary in the year 2000. Both lower primary and Upper Primary syllabus was of Kerala State Government for many years. Since we did not get recognition for State Syllabus we applied for CBSE syllabus and began classes from KG to 6th Standard in 2004 and upgraded to High School in 2006. In 2025 it is upgraded to Higher Secondary school. School provides value-based education along with co-curricular activities. Students are equipped with various abilities and talents.

Service Content	Pastoral activities : The community is engaged in the parish pastoral activity. Sisters are involved in teaching catechism , preparing children for first Holy communion, in-charge of CLC, Holy Childhood, mothers group and training the altar servers. Sisters actively participate in BCC prayer meetings and house visits.
